Wow. It's November.

Posted on Nov 4th, 2006 by Kimberly : Bliss Coach Kimberly
I'm having a hard time believing it's November already!  This year has completely flown by and my life is totally different than it was even six months ago.  Since we came into some money last month, my husband and I have spent a lot of time upgrading our lives to the level we've always dreamed of.   We have a new car, I got a super Uber Laptop, we both got PDA's, I bought a lovely winter coat and a bunch of clothes, my husband is upgrading his computer and monitor, we've been eating out again and buying some things for the house that we've wanted for a while.  Living this way is so comfortable.  We actually had a moment last pay day where we completely forgot it was pay day.  That was a revolutionary experience for people who had grown accustomed to living paycheck to paycheck.

I've also recently started interviewing for some interesting jobs.  One in particular I'm excited about although I really hate waiting to hear back.  I think the interview went well though--they just have to come to a decision about what they really want and need for the position.  I'm pretty sure it's me and I'm waiting for them to reach the same conclusion.  In the meantime I've been pursuing other jobs that I find interesting, including a Senior Information Architect position that I'm perfect for.  We'll see how it all pans out, but clearly the energy has shifted towards me getting a great job soon.

We're very antsy though ... we both want to get our house and get a puppy and move on with our lives.  Since getting the new car we both feel like we've outgrown the townhouse we're currently living in.  It's been a great place over the past couple of years (much better than living in an apartment that's for sure!), but we want a place that has some land, more space, more privacy, and we want the ability to fix up our home the way we want to.  We've still got the furniture picked out.  We're just waiting for my job so we can get the mortgage we want.  Today we went and bought some boxes so we can start packing and move the energy towards moving.

I'm still working on manifesting more money along with the job and the house.  I had a great demonstration of manifestation last month, but in some ways it was easy because that money had always been there--I just had to see it.  The challenge is believing that money will drop out of the sky in a new and exciting way and let go of the "how".  Since then we've seen some fun examples of manifestation--the laptop we just bought for me was on sale by a huge amount and came with a rebate and a giftcard.  All told, we paid about the same amount as the laptop we bought for graduate school two years ago and this one is much spiffier and newer.

I'm just working hard at keeping the faith and believing everything has already manifested.  I really believe it has, I'm just trying not to be impatient about its delivery.  I was thinking about how I wanted to have a job by the end of September and that didn't happen.  It occurred to me that the one job in particular that I'm interested posted about then--so it was there--I just apparently wasn't ready for it.  It's always interesting for me to see how things are working out and everything seems to be popping up just in time.  We want to be in the new house by the end of the year and I have a feeling that's what's going to happen.

Speaking of the new house, the man and I went to a new home buyer's seminar put on by the city of Lakewood a few weeks ago.  It was supposed to be for people who had never bought a home before as well as low income families.  When we got there, most of the people were already trying to close on a house and had to take the clase to qualify for some state programs.  The entire class was focused on doom and gloom and worst case scenarios--documenting all the horrible things that can happen to you when you buy a house.  Everyone is out to screw you and even if you prepare for everything something horrible can still happen.  There was very little valuable information about the home buying process presented.   We left a little over half way through and took the packet with us because we don't believe that's the right way to look at the home buying process.  It doesn't have to be a nightmare.  It doesn't have to be everyone against you. We are invisioning the process going as smoothly and joyfully as the process of buying our new car and we refuse to believe it's going to be stressful and horrible.  We've already found a realtor we love, we know where we 're going to get our financing, and we know we're going to love and adore our new house.

It was just very interesting to me how that class was structured.   I can't help but think, "No wonder these people are low income--the resources that were designed for them teaches them to look through eyes of lack and fear."  The man and I were imagining a different class that was centered around all the wonderful possibilities and full of success stories rather than stories of fear and failure.  Wouldn't that be a great class?
